While incarcerated an individual will be moved around to different facilities multiple times. Sometimes, a person may even be transferred across state lines to serve time for a different sentence immediately after release. There are different ways to figure out someone's current location.
Vinelink is a website where you can see the current location of an individual in any state. Other information such as release date and birthday may also be available. You can also sign up for notifications whenever someone has been relocated. However, not every person's record is consistently updated.
You can also visit the inmate search page for each state's DOC website. Each state is different, some are more detailed than others.
You may also be able to request current location and other information depending on what is considered public information in that state from the public records department.
